Ridley Park United Methodist Church puts mission into practice
Ridley Park United Methodist Church (RPUM), 501 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, had its humble beginning Feb. 5, 1891 with Sunday School at Ladomus Ave. and Chester Pike in Mrs. Joseph Bottomley’s home that later was torn down. Formal Sun. Services started 10 days later in Ward Hall, Hinckley Ave. at Sellers. The church was chartered July 5, 1892, and continued to worship at Ward Hall.
